Pay Scale : Rs. 15,600-39,100 ( PB-3) plus Rs. 5,400 (Grade Pay) (Total emoluments excluding T.A. HRA at the time of initial appointment will be Rs.38240 /-p.m. approximately)

Age : Age not exceeding 40 years as on normal closing date. Not exceeding 43 years for Other Backward Classes candidates as the vacancy is reserved for them. as on normal closing date. Relaxable for regularly appointed Central/U.T. Government Servant upto Five years as per instructions/orders issued by Govt. of India from time to time. Educational Qualification and experience :
A. Educational
i) Bachelor’s degree in Chinese or Japanese with English as a compulsory or elective subject from a recognized University or Institute
OR
ii) Advance Diploma in a Chinese or Japanese from a recognized University or Institute or School of Foreign Language , Ministry of Defence and Graduation in any subject with English as a compulsory or elective subject from a recognized University or Institute.

B. Experience
One year experience in teaching or translation from Chinese or Japanese to English or vice Versa. Note- The qualification are relaxable at Commission’s discretion in case of candidates otherwise well qualified.

Desirable Qualificaiton(s) : Diploma or certificate in a foreign language other than Chinese or Japanese (from amongst Arabic, Bhasa Indonesia, Bulgarian, Burmese, Dzongha, French, German, Hebrew, Hungarian, Italian, Korean, Kyrgyz, Persian, Polish, Pushto, Romanian, Russian, Serbo-Coat,

Duty(ies) :
(i) Examination of documents in foreign language.
(ii) Collection of intelligence -value information from foreign media.
